Bosch offers one of the world's largest ranges of spare parts for vehicle repair. The focus thereby is on high quality and a long product life. This helps to keep people mobile all over the world.

For more than 130 years, Bosch has pursued the goal of offering intelligent and reliable solutions to make life a little bit easier every day.

Bosch glow plugs

Glow plugs ensure safe engine starting and regular cleaning of the particle filter. Increased smoke emissions (especially after a cold start), suspicious combustion noises and uneven engine operation can be caused by defective glow plugs – as well as performance drops and increased fuel consumption. To ensure optimum satisfaction, Bosch offers a wide product range of high-quality glow plugs including Duraterm, Duraterm High Speed metal glow plugs and DuraSpeed ceramic glow plugs.

Bosch recommends checking metal glow plugs at regular intervals every 80 000 to 100 000 km.

Description

Powerful 11-volts glow plug developed by Bosch in 1990 with short pre-glow and long post-glow times.

In diesel engines, this reliable low-voltage glow plug is more than just a starting aid (preheating function). It also always supplies the engine with the necessary temperature, because it can be regulated.

With its design invented by Bosch, this glow plug is particularly robust. The shape of its ceramic heating element and its location in a protective tube reduce the risk of breakage even if lateral forces are applied.

  • Voltage: 11.0 V / Thread (ISO): M 10 x 1 / Torque: 15 Nm / Length: 96 mm
  • The heat up time from ambiant temperature; to 1000°C of the GLP is typical 1.3s Post-glow temperature; of up to nearly 1 350°C is possible with the latest generation; The temperature; is approximately 30 % higher than metal glow plugs
  • In extreme cold ambient conditions; down to -28°C; a quick start is guaranteed after a preheating time of just 2 seconds In identical conditions; conventional metal glow plugs require around 15 seconds to show the same performance; DuraSpeed is among the fastest glow plugs on the market
  • DuraSpeed technology reduces stress on battery and enables faster readiness of engine start; Voltage drop of battery caused during cold start does not lead to thermal performance drop of glow plug
  • High preheating temperature; long post-glow time: The ceramic DuraSpeed allows for a post-glow time of approximately 15min 1200°C temperature; As a result the cold-idling noise of the engine is significant reduced; The intermediate glow phase supports the regeneration of the diesel particle filter; In addition intermediate glow can be used during overrun mode of engine to stabilize short combustion periods;
  • Diesel particle filter – The intermediate glow of the DuraSpeed supports regeneration of the diesel particle filter;
  • Ceramic glow plugs and metal glow plugs are not interchangeable
